Print To/From gift tag labels from a list of names
Writing a tag for every present gets old fast, especially for a big family or a class. If you have a list of names, you can print "To" and "From" labels on a standard rectangular label sheet and stick one on each gift. LabelSheetMaker does it for free in your browser.
Which sheet to use
- 5163-size (10 per page, 2" × 4"): compatible with Avery® 5163 and 8163. Room for two or three lines in a large font.
- 5164-size (6 per page, 3⅓" × 4"): compatible with Avery® 5164 and 8164. Bigger labels for big boxes or a short message.
The maker prints rectangular labels on US Letter sheets. It doesn't have round or square tag sheets.
1. Type your tags
Put each tag on its own lines, with a blank line between tags:
- To: Emma
- From: Grandma & Grandpa
Add a third line if you like, such as "Happy Holidays" or "Do not open until the 25th". Each block becomes one label.
Have the names in a spreadsheet? Make two columns headed "To" and "From", fill in cells like "To: Emma" and "From: Grandma", and save as CSV. Upload it, or paste it with the "My text is a CSV" box ticked. Each cell goes on its own line, and each row becomes one tag.
2. The same tag on every label
Need a whole sheet of one tag, like "From: The Rivera Family"? Under "What are you printing?", choose "The same label on every slot", type the tag, and set how many sheets you need.
3. Make it look like a tag
- Set Alignment to Center.
- Raise the max font size. Text that doesn't fit is shrunk automatically so it stays inside the label.
- The first line is bold by default, so "To: Emma" stands out. You can also bold everything.
- Pick a font: sans, serif or typewriter. The live preview shows how each label will print.
4. Test, then print
Click "Test-alignment sheet" and print it on plain paper at 100% scale ("Actual size", not "Fit to page"). Hold it over a label sheet against a window. If it lines up, print your real PDF the same way. If everything is shifted the same way, use "Printer alignment (nudge)" in the maker. Using a part-used sheet? Set "Start at label #" to the first unused label.

Privacy
The PDF is made in your browser. Your names and messages aren't uploaded or stored on a server.
Holiday borders (optional, Pro)
The free maker prints plain labels with no watermark. Holly, snowflake and candy-stripe borders, skipping individual used labels, and saved lists are part of LabelSheetMaker Pro, including a $5 2026 Holiday Pass that doesn't renew.
